I love to read and I love the smell of a new book. It is something I don’t get to do enough. I can get totally lost in a great book, it’s scary! I love to read many genres and I would say mysteries, romance and life based novels (drama) are at the top of my list. Oh, I forgot about science fiction! 😀
I was sent another great book to review. The author, Taryn Leigh has presented me and many more with an amazing and breathtaking story of suffering, loss and deceit. I wanted to cry every time I had to put it down. My interest was held every sentence of the way!
|My cutie pie holding Perfect Imperfections, By Taryn Leigh|
A dramatic story with its location based in London and South Africa. A caring and loving woman thinking her life was perfect, to only have it ripped from her heart. She goes back to South Africa to stay with her dear friends, whom help her through her emotional turmoil. Is running away from her home in London and her failed marriage good for her? Can she open her heart once again? Will she ever heal from the worst pain she has ever experienced in her life?
Two quotes from this book that I love.
“He taught me that it’s not necessarily time that heals all wounds, but it’s what we do with that time that brings healing to our wounds.”
“Darkness cannot drive away darkness, only light can do that.”
“Sarah Lewis desires nothing more than to begin again after a failed marriage and a tragedy so terrifying, it forces her to leave her life in London to stay with her best friend a world apart in South Africa. Despite immediate success in her business, she struggles to understand who she really is and where she belongs in the world. So begins a journey of discovery as Sarah re-unites with Katy in the land where she was born, where the air is lavender scented, and weekends are spent cycling on the beach.
Until the day when she has to return to London to face the ghosts of her past and confront a situation that has grown more complicated in her absence.
Perfect Imperfections is an intriguing tale which hints at wrongdoings and deceit without giving too much away. The author cleverly weaves a tale around fragile yet strong Sarah as she tries to reconcile the reader to the point where we simply want the best for her and for happiness finally to come her way.”
As I began to read this story, it took me away from reality and into Sarah’s world. I could smell the Lavender and I could feel the emotions within every word. My heart ached and my heart smiled for her. This is an unbelievable story. It had joy, sadness, pain and anguish. This book should be on everyone’s list this Fall. Cozy up by the fire and enjoy!
