I absolutely love to read! I would love this as a full time job. Unfortunately, life is too busy for me right now. I passed down my love of reading to my oldest daughter. I am very happy and proud of her. She does have a preference though. It cannot be “boring history”, as she says. It has to be exciting, adventurous or scary! As far as my younger children go, we are working on growing their interest to reading. Usually, when we take a trip to a book store or library there are books about riding the bus or “First day of School” that shows pictures of a class full of children. I have always wanted to one day come upon something that helped my children relate to their own world. The homeschooling world.
I have finally discovered that book. Nellie Nova Takes Flight! A genius, home-schooled nine year old girl. Finally a character my child feels a connection with in the learning world. I believe it is extremely important for every kid to feel like they are not alone. Nellie’s parents even prove that parents can juggle homeschool with work. It is possible to give your child the best while juggling it all. I won’t tell anymore about the story because you should buy it and find out! You can find it on Amazon here.
I gave my daughter the book to read so that I could get an honest kid review. Here is what she had to say: “I loved that she tried really hard and didn’t give up making a time machine to prove her brother wrong. I thought it was really cool she was so smart and good at engineering. The story kept my interest the whole time. I really want them to write another one!”
We hope you give it a try. You won’t be disappointed! 😀
“Nellie appears to be a normal nine year old girl. But Nellie is not normal. Nellie is an amazingly gifted scientist who lives in a family of amazingly gifted scientists. One day, her brother, Niles, who is eleven, teases her (as all respectable big brothers do). This time, however, Niles goes too far when he tells Nellie that girls are silly and no woman has ever changed the world. This sets off a spark of an idea in Nellie’s most amazing mind and sends her down the path to create a time machine and meet wonderful women who made a mark on the world. First stop, Amelia Earhart! With a few bumps along the way and a government agency out to steal her technology, Nellie and Niles are in for an incredible adventure!”
***I received this book free in exchange for my honest review.***
